Europe believes in safety.
There was once a time when I was in Prague with these two guys named Romy
and Andrew. We were cold, searching for some famous bridge, and there was
a calling beacon in the night. No, it wasn't a monument, an Irish pub,
money on the street or even a random cute girl... it was a Volvo. What
made this Volvo so special? Apparently the model was never released in
the US. Wow.
In any case, we had to stop, freeze more, and take a picture that didn't
even come out of this "Super Volvo" from the Czech Republic. Here's the
picture, just in case anyone was wondering:
Jumping to the present, I was standing and watching Corinne take pictures
of some neo-gothic cathedral in Vienna when my calling was heard. A lone
240, beaten and abused, parked across the street... I ran across,
dodging the hectic Austrian traffic, and got Corinne to snap a shot of
myself and the wonder-mobile. It was downhill from there.
I'd like to take a second to thank Corinne for her patience with this
mission, and also to say that this page is dedicated to the Guzman family,
and Alan Thomas. Enjoy the pics.
