And we have a winner...

As I write this update, I'm sitting in a cloud of Hash and Pot smoke in a place called "Bob's Youth Hostel". The thing is, if you had the option to pick a hostel in Amsterdam, and "Bob's Youth Hostel" were an option, would younot seriously just say, "I have to be there."??

In any case, before Bob's, we had Paris, and then Belgium. I'd just like to take this time to say that our time in Belgium was seriously the most relaxing, vacation-like (to me) part of this whole trip. Marta's host family went way beyond what they needed, and really went out of their way to make us feel like part of their family. They showed us what Belgians (Flemish Belgians at least) are really like. I can't say enough good things about our time there.

Since then, we've been here in Amsterdam for a day and a half now. We went to the Van Gogh museum today, in addition to taking a tour through the canals and harbor. I'll be trying to see Anne Frank's house tomorrow morning. (I missed it today due to exhaustion, but that's a longer story than I'd care to type at the moment.)

We're headed for Cologne tomorrow around 1, where we'll see their fancy gothic cathedral. After that, we've got a place for the night in Frankfurt. It seems as if Corinne is about as tired as I am at this point, so we'll be cutting our trip a little short, and hitting those other parts of Germany later on in the next semester.

In the mean time, we're concentrating on getting our things ready for our time in Dresden. That's supposed to start on Monday the first of March, so we've got little time before the crunch begins. None of us know what classes we'll be taking, but I imagine we'll figure it out soon.

I don't expect to do anymore updates before my return to Zittau, so be prepared for a couple of days of silence. I'll try to be more clever and less informative in the next update, as I know that some of you use this site as your weekly form of entertainment. (cough Romy, cough cough) Until then, I remain...
